On June 4, 2025, in Bengaluru, many people came together to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s first IPL win including me . But the joy turned into sadness when a stampede happened near Chinnaswamy Stadium. Eleven people died, and over fifty were hurt.
This tragedy reminds us how strong our need to belong is. We all want to be part of something big. We want to share in the happiness of others. This feeling is called FOMO Fear of Missing Out. It makes us feel we must be everywhere, do everything, and not miss any moment.
Social media makes FOMO stronger. We see pictures and videos of people having fun, and we feel left out. We think, “Why am I not there?” This can make us anxious and unhappy.
But we can find peace by looking inside ourselves. We can ask:
Do I really want to be there, or do I just not want to feel left out?
Am I chasing joy, or am I running from loneliness?
Spiritual teachers say that true happiness comes from within. When we are calm inside, we don’t feel the need to be everywhere. We can enjoy the present moment, even if it’s quiet and simple.
The stampede in Bengaluru was shatterd my eyes, i lost a collegue whom i used to work she was just 22 , this shows us that sometimes, our desire to be part of something can lead to harm. It’s okay to miss out on some things. It’s okay to say, “I don’t need to be there.” Peace comes when we accept where we are and find joy in it.
so i come to conclusion today and
Let us remember: Life isn’t about being everywhere; it’s about being present where we are.
